DIY: Beeswax Lotion

There are many benefits to using beeswax especially if you have sensitive skin, which I do. Some benefits are that it provides a protection against irritants while still allowing the skin to breathe, it  offers anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiviral benefits, which make it helpful in treating the skin  if it is irritated. This is the reason beeswax is used in many skin care products. But as we know some product companies add in other things as a filler that are not so healthy for our skin. This is why I chose to make my own beeswax lotion. It is fairly simple and takes only 20-25 minutes.

1/2 Cup of Olive Oil
1/2 Cup of Coconut Oil
1/2 Cup of Beeswax (I like Deluxe Botanicals. which can be found here)
1 Tablespoon of Vitamin E oil
Couple drops of essential Oil of your choice for smell (optional)
I added a couple drops of shea nut oil (optional)

Fill a pan 1/2 full with water. Place on stove on medium heat. Combine all oils and beeswax into a pint glass jar. Place it jar in the water. Make sure non of the water gets inside the jar. Stir this jar occasionally until contents are complete melted. Remove jar from water and allow contents to completely cool before use. That is it quick and easy.

I like the Deluxe Botanicals, which can be found here because it is 100% pure, 100% organic. It is triple filtered and cosmetic grade. Deluxe Botanicals Beeswax is great for other DIY projects such as making lip balm and beeswax candles. It works as lubrication for hair, skin, lips and nails. Hope some  of my favorite products that have beeswax in them below.

These beeswax DIY projects are great to do with kids and make great gifts. Do you have any great DYI projects? Hope you enjoy and let me know if you try this one out.
