Happy Halloween Little Devils

So this Halloween I am keeping it simple. I paired this cute devil headband and pitchfork with a black and white sweater from Old Navy. Which is on sale right now. Find it at http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=60790&vid=1&pid=977887072. I topped it off with some black skinny jeans and tan riding boots.  I also added my favorite bag in my collection, the Louis  Vuitton Speedy 30 Damier. Find the bag at http://us.louisvuitton.com/eng-us/products/speedy-30-damier-ebene-008788.

What is your favorite halloween costume?

Hope you are keeping it safe but scary this Halloween! ;)

Lover of Pomegranates

It is pomegranate season and this makes me happy. I love pomegranates. Not only because they are such a beautiful color, but because of the nutritional benefits. Did you know that pomegranates are low in fat, free of saturated fat, sodium free, and cholesterol free? If that isn't enough to make you run out and grab one, then maybe the fact that pomegranates are a great source of fiber, potassium, and vitamins C and K will. They are also a good source of folate and copper. The one thing I do not like about them is deseeding them. So here is a easy way to deseed them without staining your fingers, clothes, and the rest of your kitchen.

Steps to Deseeding a Pomegranate

1. Cut the pomegranate in half with a sharp knife.

2. Fill a large bowl half way with water.

3. Place one half of the pomegranate in the bowl of water.

4. Start peeling the rind and separating the seeds from the translucent white flesh. The seeds will sink to the bottom of the bowl and the rind and flesh should float to the top.

5. Remove the rind, flesh, and drain the water off the seeds.

All pomegranates contains hundreds of seeds. These seeds and its translucent flesh are edible. So enjoy eating them raw or add them to your favorite yogurt,  salad, or even juice them for a healthy drink.

Hello London

Big Ben
Last November I visited Europe for the first time. Loved it! The first stop on my European trip was to London. So in honor of #TBT my outfit of the day is a little tribute to London. I got this great Union Jack scarf while in London.  I paired it with a oatmeal sweater from The Limited. It is a great accessory that added a pop of color. To top off my outfit I added a navy Marc by Marc Jacobs bag, a Pandora charm bracelet (w/ travel Pandora charms), and my navy Michael Kors watch.

Here are some pics of my trip. Hope you enjoy.

Of course all fashion bloggers have to visit Harrod's #Loved

Buckingham Palace

What are some of your favorite European countries you have visited? Stay turned next Thursday for #TBT to see the next stop on my European trip.

All Pumpkin Everything

October and November are two of my favorite months. Not only because it is fall and you can see all the pretty colors, but because it is all pumpkin everything. Did you know that a pumpkin is a squash and that it has great nutritional value that can help reduce the risk of some chronic diseases? Pumpkins are  rich in beta-carotene, which is converted to vitamin A in our bodies. The NIH indicates that beta-caroteine may reduce certain types of cancers and protects against many chronic disease. Check out their info on beta-cartene here http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/natural/999.html.

Leopard & Eggplant

Lately I have been obsessed with all things purple. It is like my new favorite color. I accented this eggplant sweater, found at www.thelimited.com, with a leopard infinity scarf. This little detail really added a touch of flair to the outfit. This one is no longer available but you can find a really cute one that is 40% from express by clicking the link http://www.express.com/clothing/leopard+infinity+scarf/pro/1032483/cat740011. I also paired my favorite Marc by Marc Jacobs tote bag. Totes are great for your work day when you are carrying all your daily essentials. Check out the great totes Marc Jacobs has to offer http://www.marcjacobs.com/women/marc-by-marc-jacobs/bags-wallets/#prefn1=product-type&prefv1=30-tote.

Absolutely Alli

This is my first post and I am so excited about starting this journey....I have always loved following fashion and beauty bloggers to get great style tips to change up and enhance my wardrobe, or  following fitness and food vloggers to learn great ideas to stay healthy and active. So one day I thought to myself "Hey! I'm stylish, I love makeup, I like taking pictures of myself and I have done a couple of half marathons......why don't you tell your story." So ladies and gents this is how Absolutely Alli was concocted (yes I know that is in terms of food). I am very enthusiastic about this journey so stay tuned for more post about fashion, food, fun and a whole lot more.
